Hudson James Collection

Antiquing is in my blood. I opened my first antique store in Holland as a teenager in 1969. After forty years, my two sons one day asked why I wasn’t buying and restoring American antiques’ Good question! We were soon exploring countless shabby stores, and flea markets – filling our warehouses with armoires, churns, antique chairs, barber signs, dry sinks, Pennsylvania cupboards, naive paintings, metal stools and other finds. We discovered American antique furniture with simplicity of line, subtle European influences, and happy colors reflecting simpler times and wholesome country life.

After more than a year spent duplicating dry flaky finishes, recreating handmade hardware, and capturing subtle details to revive a long forgotten look, we are proud to present the Hudson James Collection. In tribute to the greatness of the American landscape, we’ve named our reclaimed orphans for American streams and rivers.
